So here’s the thing – I work in the afternoon/late evening. I get up and going around 11:30 AM, eat a small lunch/big breakfast around 1:30, go to work at 3:30, eat my dinner (usually a grilled chicken breast, cottage cheese, try to incorporate some veges) around 8, get off work anywhere between 10:30 and midnight, and go to bed around 3:30 AM. I can be perfectly full when I got off work, but it seems the minute I get home I’m starved!
Most nights I try to be smart and eat something healthy such as celery or strawberries, but other nights I just want pizza or ice cream. I know they say it isn’t good to eat within so many hours of bedtime (the not eating past 8 doesn’t work for me, since I’m at work at that time), but there are nights I feel like I HAVE to eat something or else I’ll lay in bed listening to my stomach growl.
So, any suggestions on some healthy food choices that will fill me up without causing me to put on pounds in my sleep? Or what could I do during the day to ensure that I won’t be hungry when I get home? I work in a restaurant, so while it may seem like snacking throughout the night wouldn’t be an issue, it is. 95% of the night I am up front by the doors, so sneaking away for a snack is not feasible.
