The Danube River in Central Europe has seen some major flooding over the last few days — people have died, homes have been destroyed. Our honeymoon is a river cruise down the Danube. Our departure site, Passau Germany, has had the worst flooding in 500 years. Prague, Vienna and Budapest have been hit, as has basically every city along the river that we’ll be visiting.
They aren’t really cancelling any cruises, and we’re so far out that that at least won’t be a problem. This is probably the most expensive trip I’ll ever go on, and I’d like to at least have realistic expectations. Does anyone have any idea what things look like four months after major flooding? I’m hoping that they’ll at have the flood barriers down by then, but we’ll “deal” with whatever shape they’re in. I feel shallow…
