My Fiance loves old maps and we recently had an amazing trip around Iceland so I’m thinking of getting him a huge framed map of Iceland to hang on the wall

men are so difficult to buy for on valentines day!

maybe tickets to something he’s always wanted to see/go to?

I usually buy event type gifts. Concerts, musicals, symphonies, basketball games… this year I got us tickets to go see cirque de soilel.

New book or computer game?

In the past I’ve gotten my Fiance tickets to a hockey game and a couples massage gift certificate. This year, Fiance and I have agreed to spend under $40 so I am getting him a nice travel journey (he likes to write in a journal before/after/during our trips) and some candy. 🙂

We stopped doing gifts for Valentine’s Day years ago. Now we stay-in, cook dinner together, and have sex. Personally, I think valentine’s gifts are totally unnecessary. It’s a much better gift to both of you to take time to connect and just be with each other.

I have two ideas 🙂

1. Write 14 heartfelt letters, one for each day leading up to Valentine’s day. Leave them next to his keys or in his car so he sees it before work. On Valentine’s day have a romantic night in, a picnic if the weather is night or just cuddle up in bed ;D

2. Buy some cute lingerie and surprise him with it Valentine’s day

Heck, you could do both of these 😉

I never get my Fiance gifts but I always make him a really extravagant dinner like Lobster and buy new sexy lingerie. You can’t go wrong with food and sex lol.

We go on a little weekend trip every Valentine’s Day instead of gifts. Id rather spend time together making memories instead of  getting more stuff we don’t need. It works great for us 🙂

I totally agree with PP.  We don’t do any gifts- but sometimes exchange cards.  We put the money that we would have spend on gifts towards a fancier date that we wouldn’t normally splurge on.  (nicer dinner and/or some event)  We usually do the date around Valentines day, but not always the day of.
