(Closed) What to give a couple that has no house (or plans for a house)?

    I think your best bet is a gift certificate. Let them buy what they could use now while still in someone else’s house.

    @Ennie:  If you’re worried about them not using something though, I’d say just stick with what they’ve registered for (choose something practical rather than ornamental if this matters to you). Isn’t the point of a registry that they list things they actually do want and will use?

    Not forgetting of course that cash is something that will definitely not sit around collecting dust!

    They are guaranteed to appreciate and use a cash gift, that’s what I would get.

    i’d say they’re all good choices except frames. couples always end up with too many no matter how many they register for, and they usually end up clashing if they’re not all from the registry.

    Definitely cash.

    I would hope people wouldn’t go off-registry for linens/towels, though – they shouldn’t end up with 10,000 towels if people just get them what they asked for!

    I vote for linens–specifically, the ones on their registry. They get what they want, and you get what you want too… that is, for your gift to be used immediately.
