I started at this job in March. Besides me there is only the manager and the occasional pest control that stops by. I really liked working with my manager but in 3 days she is moving to Missouri. I kind of want to give her a little farewell present but I can’t come up with anything. She has almost everything packed already for the movers plus she and her husband are driving in seperate cars from Arizona. I was thinking something small that could easily be transported but I just dont know what.

@miksje130: I was going to say a plant (maybe for her garden) but that might be difficult to transport.
Do they drink? Perhaps some beer for the first night in their new home. I know that when I move, I always look forward to a beer at the end of a day.
EDIT: If there’s a craft beer that’s made in your home state, that might be even more fun!

Well I would love to get her something to drink but there is a slight problem with that. I am only 19 so that would be something I couldn’t easily get my hands on and wouldn’t that taste funny after being in the car that long? Right now its like a 100 here, wouldn’t the heat effect it?

I know it’s not super creative or personal, but a gas card or Visa gift card with a short note of appreciation? Something to help her with her drive. If you know her tastes, a book on tape, music or itunes gift card for her to buy her own.

Maybe a scented candle? Or you could get her some seed packets for flowers or herbs – they could be wrapped in a tiny package to be easily transported, and she can plant them once she’s settled in.

I would agree with a gift card or something like that. As someone who has moved several times, the less stuff I have to fit in, the better.
It might seem impersonal, but I would really value the thought that went into getting me a gift–and getting something that fit with my plans.
