This is an sample of our wedding invitations.
I am only including: Outer envelope (A7) , Invitation (5×7), RSVP (Postcard size) RSVP envelope (A2) and possibly a business card size of additional info (wedding website, etc.) Our reception is the same location as the ceremony so I am putting reception immediately to follow on the invitation.
FYI: It’s a very southern/rustic wedding at a barn. (Reception inside barn/Ceremony outdoors)
My question is this: How should I combine these? I do not want a pocketfold. I was thinking twine tie or make my own burlap and secure it with something. Please give me some feedback on what you think is a good idea.
Also: I’m ordering these through VistaPrint… What is the best texture paper? Linen, Matte, etc.
Thanks so much for your time and help!

If I did the twine, I was thinking something like this could hold them together.

@SouthernBee33: how about a belly band? you can use burlap, lace and twine or any combo of them. they will suit the style of your invites.

@mypinkshoes: Oh I love those! Where can I find some like that?
Is the material stretchy? Or does it slide onto it? I don’t mind DIY projects, I’m sure I could even put something like that together.

@SouthernBee33: i would probably go to a fabric store and buy the burlap or lace myself and diy. i’m sure there are a few ways to keep it together if you want. a strong double sided tape may even work for a lighter fabric. if you are handy, you could stitch them.
the possibilities are endless really. i would buy a few small samples and put them together to see what works best for your look before buying the whole batch.
i was also thinking that you could even use thick brown or beige paper as a belly band and then add the twine or raffia. probably the easiest.
let me know what you find and come up with.

@mypinkshoes: I think I’m gonna get some 2″ burlap ribbon and secure it (should I use hot glue or glue dots…hmmm) and use twine and use a tag for the guests first names since I’m not using an inner envelope. What do you think?
Here’s what the tag will generally look like:

@SouthernBee33: i think that will look really nice. if you are using hot glue, make sure that you use a blotter under it (or scrap piece of cardboard) so that the hot glue doesn’t drip on your invites while it’s drying.
i love the tags. good idea.
can’t wait to see the finished product.
