We are going to have a visit from some extended fam that I don’t see but once every few years, and I want something that everyone likes but that is delicious.
I was leaning towards chicken milanese with spaghetti carbonara, (anything would also have a salad, plus a dessert of course). That’s the type of thing that I know I can make on autopilot and leave the pasta warming in the oven. I like when the chicken breasts are piping hot, so I’d probably have them ready to fry but actually fry them when we were ready to eat.
I want something that screams “YUMMMM”!! but looks effortless. I’m a decent cook, so I’m not afraid of trying anything as long as I don’t have to grill it lol. I just don’t know what to make!!!

Chili and baked potatoes always looks so effortless, but there’s a LOT you can modify to make it super delicious. DH and I always add honey to ours, plus a lot of cayenne pepper… it makes a very distinct, unique flavor. And I am always a sucker for those build your own type meals, where you start with something like a baked potato and have a million condiments to add to it.
What about a few kinds of soups, with some artisian breads, cheeses, and wines? Totally chic and effortless, but there are so many kinds of soup, you can make it as fancy as you want to.
If you have a grill, I love grilled fruit (pineapple, esp), along with smashed, cheesy potatoes and steak.. YUM!

How about lamb meatballs and home made marinara sauce with baked eggplant? These are my go to recipes whenever I’m feeding a big group of people. Yummy and awesome, but looks effortless at the same time. AND you can make the meatballs and marinara sauce ahead of time so it really is effortless!
