We are giving our priest a donation of $200. Our ceremony vocalist and musicians are each asking for $150, and I feel like our priest is worth more than that. We’re also planning on giving our altar servers $20 each.

We also gave ours $200 and paid for his hotel for two nights.  He was a personal friend who came in from Out of Town.

yeah, $100-200 sounds about right. (especially if he took extra time to meet with you or something.)

our church told us $100 minnimum for the priest- which i was put off by…i would have probably given that anyway but still…a minnimum? in the end my husbands uncle ended up celebrating our marriage and we paid for his flight and hotel and got him a little gift instead. Since he was out of state we did our marriage prep with the deacon, we bought him a little gift as well.

we also paid 100 for our date

200 each for 2 musicians and 200 for the wedding director.

For our parish we “aren’t allowed” to give him more than $12.00 cash or something like that. I forgot the reason for it, but I assume because of their vow of poverty stipulation?

Anyway, They can receive gifts like clothes/food etc … He’s a foodie like me… So we got him some nice wine!! Woooot.

Find out what he’s into, I say.  Like Golf, Reading, or something and give some kind of gift along those lines!!

We have to pay $250 for the church, $125 for the church’s organist (it’s more if we want to use a soloist, and even more if we want people we know to do so instead). I really have no idea what I’m going to give beyond that.

@HolyVowels:

@Miss Audrey:

Those are all BASICS when it comes to getting married….aren’t they? (Depending on what the Bride and Groom want..  What the parish allows/requires..and for a marriage license, a reception fully/partially loaded, the dress, rings? suit?)

____

He’ll be marrying you, I mean what do most of us get for being BORN (on our BDays)?! LOL You’ll think of something appropiate for him… think along the lines of a present like any other event… Anniversaries/Baptisims/Holidays.. what do people usually receive? It seems like the standard is $100—$200 though..
