I’m having family fly in from Canada to Paris, and in their baskets I put

A map of Paris,

Public Transportation passes

A list of top attractions

Tickets to get into the louvre.

Macaroons.

And a converter for their electronics.

A list of your favorite area restaurants.  Whenever I travel, I want to try local cuisine rather than going to a chain restaurants.

I agree with PP – map, transit passes, and some snacks are all great ideas!

Maybe also include bottle(s) of water, gum, aspirin, etc.

@jenny001:  Bottle of water, salty snack, sweet snack, Advil, map, suggestions on how to kill time and where to eat lunch.

I’d skip the body wash. I always pack that for international trips.
