Where is your wedding?

Perhaps a little souvenir from whereever you’re having the ceremony.

Also,

Maps/brochures

Water bottles

Snacks

Oh shit kit/hangover kit

Itinerary/welcome note

Squirt gun

Kazoo

Sunglasses

Chapstick

Towel (if you can get em super cheap)

Mints

In ours, we’re putting Serapes, personalized water bottle/thermos, oh shit kit, itinerary/welcome note…..and some other things….I know I have the list around here somewhere

I think a good guideline for an Out of Town is:

-Something Useful

-Something Fun

-Something to welcome

-Something edible

But you can really get as crazy and elaborate as you want.

@ivoryowl:  I’m getting the regular paper gift bags from Oriental Trading. They are $6.25 for a dozen bags. http://www.orientaltrading.com/gift-bags-a2-48_317-12-1.fltr?Ntt=gift+bags

I figure we can decorate the outside with a pretty label. They had a bunch of colors, we just chose brown as its a fall wedding and it went with our theme/colors!

Inside, we are putting:

A welcome note from my fiance and I

Wedding Timeline

Directions to the church and venue

A list of fun things to do/places to eat/where to shop in the area

Water bottles, with labels with our name/date on them

Snacks (granola bars, goldfish packs, mini pretzel packs – we are going to mix it up, so the bags may have different things)

Mini Advil packs

Cute door hangers that I found on one of the boards: http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/door-hangers-for-oot-bags?replies=8#axzz2MCnpDzm9

Our guests aren’t traveling from too far away, most from the next state over. And its October, so they won’t need sunscreen or anything like that. But I really want them to have some snacks in the room for the break between the ceremony and reception (when most will check in to the hotel) and for after the reception.

I’ve really liked when I’ve received postcards (pre-stamped!!) from the wedding location. I like to send postcards from everywhere I visit. People could keep them for scrapbooks or slide them into a photo album with other pics from the trip.
