For a pear, I’d go to a custom jeweler. Pears can be a bit tricky, especially if you add a halo since some pears are fatter than others. In my area, I’ve found that custom is on par pricewise with pre-made (and they’re cheaper than name brand settings).

    hannabee :  that’s gorgeous!

It would look so pretty with white gold or platinum, very classic, but if you have your heart set in rose or yellow gold, you can’t go wrong with such a pretty stone.

I personally wouldn’t put a halo around it because it’s so stunning, but it’s your ring and you should do what you want!

Ask your jeweler about the price to custom set your pear. But when we were looking at settings   our jeweler quoted $4,000.00 for the halo which was about double what we had allowed for the setting. Check out Stuller’s website.  They sell settings to jewelery stores.  If your pear will fit in a standard setting this may be an option.  Your jeweler could order one in for you and source the halo melee and set it for you.  Have you tried on rosegold against your skin to see if you like it? On some pink skin toned women it blends into their skin.  I personally love it and see very few women in real life with rosegold rings.  If you love it then choose rosegold.

You could always find a CZ setting or other stone setting that will fit your pear and swap out the stones. That’s what I did for my pear moissy 😊

    Beautiful stone! Congradulations!

hannabee :  sorry I meant to include a caption lol. The halo is white gold and the shank is yellow gold. I love it! My stone is 1.2 G. I have had it for a few months and love it more everyday.

hannabee :  I have a pear too! We are in the process of designing a setting too. We are dealing with Ivy and Rose vintage which is who we purchased the pear from.  They are located in Chicago and the prices are pretty reasonable.  If you want to see a video of my pear go to the thread, http://boards.weddingbee.com/topic/help-me-tweak-these-cads/

You have a gorgeous pear.  Don’t give up on the halo dream.  Just ask several jewelers because prices may be different in your area.  A rose gold setting would be lovely and special.

EDIT: Ivy and Rose did not quote us $4,000.00

I love my rose gold setting! But my diamond is a J color. So I don’t know if this is beneficial to you! But thought I’d share 😊
