No idea, I would like to know this as well. I guess for a Destination Wedding it would be cash only huh?

I’m a wedding plannner. I own my business and so I never expect a tip, however, so far I have received a gift of some sort from every bride.

I love spa gift cards. I also have enjoyed gift cards to nice restaurants in the area. Since I work so much, it’s nice to have someone else remind me I need a night out. I have also recieved nice bottles of champagne.I would say all the gifts probably averaged $100 in price.

Cash is always good, but I appreciate gifts because it seems more personal and after working with someone for so long, it’s nice to get something with a special touch. For instance my favorite gift was a beer of the month club for 6 months. It was something that she had discovered I loved a long the way, and it really came from the heart.

I think just about anyone would prefer cash over a gift certificate of sorts. I know I would. The thing with a spa GC is that not everyone will like it. I was gifted a spa GC a few years ago and I regifted it to a friend since it’s not really my thing.

We tipped our DOC $100 though we also got her for free. I would have liked to tip more but our budget was already busted by the time we got to the tips. If you’d like to add a little something extra on-top of a monetary tip, a nice bottle of wine would probably be appreciated.
