Chalkboard signs are very trendy now. But what is the feel your going for?

As PP mentioned, chalkboards are very trendy right now, but I think it’d be a great choice considering you’re doing a semi-formal buffet of Mexican food. I think the dry erase board won’t look very pretty, and I think people might be annoyed with only one menu per table. I just think of whenever I go to a restaurant and there’s only one drink menu and everyone wants a drink and has to wait. Just my two cents.

califlorican:  I would go to a dollar store and get some pretty frames, design your own menu on your computer and print it out on photo paper or take it to printing store and get a menu made for each table and put it in the frame. It will give some visual interest at the tables and each person can see it before they go up to the buffet or you can just print out individual menus and have one put at each place setting. You can even have the DJ make an announcement for people to take a look at the menus on the table before they get up on the line.

I like chalkboard and dry erase boards when you can get a really large one- but not on individual tables. Also, it’s not guaranteed that everyone will see it depending on where it is placed so it may be a waste.

I did individual menus but we had a small guest list. I worked really hard on creating the layout myself and the mothers wanted one as a keepsake. We laminated ours so people could take them if they wanted but I think only the mothers took them home

We had a taco cart at our wedding and wrote the choices on a chalkboard…………. that never got put out, haha! And I didn’t realize it until we were packing up and it was right where I had left it when we arrived. But it wasn’t a big deal since there were only 3 taco choices. Since it’s a buffet maybe you could make little signs to put next to each item? If you want to go for the chalkboard look, there are small sizes at Hobby Lobby and Michael’s! Frames like a PP suggested would be cute too, and then you can save them for after the wedding!

We bought inexpensive double sided white frames from ikea ($1 each!) and printed the menus on printer paper. Put one on each table and worked out great!

We are doing chalkboard menus with pretty antique frames. Dry erase boards aren’t as pretty
