My fiance and I were planning on getting our pictures taken this fall but it didn’t work out as planned. Our new plan is to have winter engagement pictures. Preferably after we’ve had a decent snowfall. Lots of warm blankets, hot cocoa, snowball fights, etc.
I’m curious if anyone has any suggestions for outfits or picture inspiration they’d be willing to share.
I have suggestions from our photographer but I’d like a variety of opinions.
Thanks a bunch!

Faux fur coat or matching faux fur hat and muff if that’s your style. Or a big wooly scarf you can out around the both of you. I think matching bobble hats could be cute (or not, I don’t know). Hope it gives you some ideas, I’m pretty sure if you wore just what I suggest you’ll be pretty cold lol.

Okay, so I went a little over board. But I LOVE winter engagement photos!

Wooo! Date Twin! I love this idea, I wanted a fall shoot also , but alas that time has come and gone. But these posts have totally changed my mind, I would prefer the winter shots! and all the cute props – hot chocolate, snowballs, sleds, hats and scarves – very cute!

Those are stunning! I didn’t find any of those. lol These help a lot. I got so set on having a fall session and what we’d do for it that I’ve been at a loss for what we’ll do this winter.

There are sooo many great shots you can get! I am from KY, btw so I know how beautiful it is there during the winter. 🙂
I would get some cute hats, scarves, boots and coats. A beautiful blanket and some hot cocoa mugs!

YAY for date twins! September is, in my humble opinion, the best possible month to get married. 😉
I was initially very hesistant about a winter shoot and had basically just decided we’d have a late engagement shoot and get them done in the Spring. But after talking to our photographer today she really convinced me it’d be a good idea to do it.
Have I mentioned I love our photographer? Well I do. She wasn’t my first choice but I am SOOO glad we went with her because we get the whole shebang. The one-on-one attention, lots of suggestions, a very go with the flow attitude, total professionalism yet friendly, funny, and personal. gah she’s the best!
So now all we have to do is wait for some pretty, fluffy, white snow.
Awesome! What part of KY are you from? I’m in Louisville and I’m generally not a winter person but I am totally wishing for snow and lots of snuggling now. lol

We wore nice coats, jeans, I wore tall boots and he wore dress coats. I also got us really cute matching ear of flap hats with faux fur on the inside. I’ll post some pics when I’m not on my phone!

you could do a sweater, vest, mitts and hat rather than a jacket if it’s not toooooo cold! Think American Eagle poster, lol
