Hi, bees! So, my wedding is January 14, and despite the cold, I want to take pictures outside. Also, before I get in the getaway car, not to mention, the door to the center aisle of the church is a door to the outside, so I’ll have to stand there for a minute before I go in.
The point is! I don’t know what to wear over the dress for the cold. I was going to wear a pashmina, as that’s what I’m getting my bridesmaids to wear over their dresses. But my friends told me a pashmina would be ugly with a wedding dress/cover it up too much. Then I was gonna wear a fur stole, but the fiance hates fur (he doesn’t get what’s classy about dead animals. haha). So what should I put on my shoulders? Should I just brave the cold and hope the glow of my wedding day will be warmth enough? 🙂

i voted without reading your post. If your Fiance hates fur, then I would go with a cardigan. 🙂
I agree a pashmina would cover you up too much!
Depending on your dress, it may be nice to get a cardigan with some nice beadwork or detailing.

I’m on the hunt for some sort of coat. If i come across any, I’ll share it but I’ve been coming up dry so I may just get one made.

Thanks girls! I like the cardigan idea. I’d have to find a nice one in blue. My wedding is gonna be a little more formal. I have a pretty long train, and a decently long veil (with blusher), so I’d want to make sure it would fit.
@pinkandsparkly: Its not that he has a problem with dead animals. It’s more like um…he’s the kind of guy that wants to take up hunting as a hobby, so he doesn’t understand why game (or something that resembles it) draped across my shoulders is fancy. It just looks silly to him. Haha. A little more of a guy thing, I guess.

I don’t like the way fur looks most of the time, and pashminas can be messy. I’d do a bolero or cardigan or nothing at all.

i’m having a full length (with train) hooded cloak 😀
