I am going to a baby shower in November (I live in the northeast, so it will be fairly cold here by then). I have no idea what to wear – help! I have only attended a few wedding/baby showers and they were all in the warmer months. What does one wear to a baby shower for this time of year? It wil be held at a banquet hall in a hotel, if that makes a difference. Please help!

I would say cute and not too casual. If you want to err on the “safe”side, especially if it is in a nice location, then avoid jeans. Maybe dressy black pants (or other non-jean pants) and a nice sweater.

@Sea_Ashley: Depends on how ‘nice’ the venue is. Most I have been to were all very casual, jeans and a nice top. You will more than likely be in pictures so youll want to look presentable. I think I went to one in the fall/winter and i wore jeans and a tank and a cardigan.

Trouser jeans or trousers with a pretty top or sweater. Or a knee length skirt/dress with flats or tall boots (not too high or spiky with the heel). Basically, something nice that is presentable to Gramma and that you wouldn’t mind being photographed in. I like to dress in layers because event facilities always seem to have wonky temperature issues. Some always seem too hot, while others try to freeze you out of the place. Layers seem to give me the best odds of staying comfy.

I’d wear some chinos, and a top of some description. With some flat shoes.
