Hello bees, I need some help with deciding what to wear to my friends’ wedding!
Two of my friends from school are getting married soon, and they are having a very small, informal wedding. About 20 people for both the ceremony and reception. On the invitation they’ve specified “no hats and ties” and their reception will be afternoon tea in one of the brides’ mum’s back garden. I still feel though that I should be dressing up a bit seeing as it’s such a special occasion!
Most of my summer dresses are too short and therefore not really appropriate for a wedding. The smartest of these is a dress with flowers, butterflies etc which could be ok, but is still shorter than I would like. I was thinking of maybe getting a maxi dress with flowers or something and wearing some wedges for the back garden. Do you think that strikes the right note between dressing up enough to show I care that it’s their wedding day and not being too dressy for the reception?
P.S. Of course if I’m really unsure I can ask the brides, but I feel a bit embarrassed seeing as they’ve already put a bit of a guideline on the invitation!
