OK bees! So I have a little (cult) obsession going with this one designer’s dresses. I travel hours to go to special sample sales, I exchange looks with other girls wearing the same dress, I wore one of these dresses for college graduation and important days in my life. Boyfriend or Best Friend (although he is a guys guy and doesn’t get it) puts up with it. I *might*have mentioned when I was drunk how important it was for me to be wearing one of these dresses when I get engaged. And now I’m soo close to getting engaged, he keeps telling me to wear my dresses more.
Did anyone else plan what they were going to wear to get engaged? I don’t know the exact date (but it’s in November), so what do you do? Wear the same dress daily until it happens?

My fiance insisted that I have a perfect dress to go out in on our trip to Las Vegas. Then he insisted I wear it out on the night he proposed. He also bought it for me, so I should have known right then and there that he was going to propose!
I dropped similar hints like you did, and he made sure I was dressed appropriately the night it happened. You should be good to go!

I was in a black skirt, white blouse, and pink scarf when he proposed. I had just gotten home from work and hadn’t changed yet.

I bought a really cute gray dress, and I kept wearing it everytime we were supposed to do something fun and a little out of the ordinary for us.
I ended up wearing it about three times before I scored gold (literally! :)). Fiance ended up spoiling the suprise and told me the day he was going to propose, but to be fair, I was going to wear it that day anyway :).
Anytime he seems a little bit more excited, I would throw on one of your dresses. Especially if you’re going outside of normal date territory.

My friend was going on weekend trip with her boyfriend, and she was convinced he was going to purpose, so she went out and bought the “perfect” dress to wear on the Saturday night of their trip.
He proposed on Friday. She was in yoga pants because they had just gotten out of the car after the long drive.
God laughs while you’re making plans!!

um no I was wearing pjs. Out of curiosity, who is the designer?

…And trust me, when it does happen, what you are wearing is so far from being something that you think about.

haha Lilly Pulitzer. Which is another sort of problem because I don’t have too many “winter Lillys.”

I was wearing PJ’s, but to be fair, he totally surprised me. I knew a proposal was coming, but I didn’t think he’d gotten the ring yet. I was wrong!

I have no idea what either NotFroofy or I wore when I proposed to her. I don’t think either of us cared.

Fiance proposed to me at the end of a scavenger hunt, and the first clue i got told me to go upstairs (the clue was in our mailbox) and change into something nice. it was a friday after work and since i work from home (and it was the summer), he knew i’d probably be wearing shorts and a tshirt. and right he was – if i hadn’t been instructed to change, i would have been wearing old shorts and a 90210 tshirt. not that i would have cared at all, but he had made dinner reservations at a nice restaurant for after the proposal and i don’t think they would have looked kindly on my attire.

I did! haha but i knew he was proposing (though he didnt know that i knew) we were in charleston and it was 100 degrees! i had on a cute gray and white tank with some white shorts and some flip flops. nothing special but i knew i was going to take some pictures so i wanted to look decent. Well first i was SWEATING like a beast and then it downpoured, in white shorts…i think he liked it. haha

I’ll be honest even though I knew he was going to propose and he was dressed up from going out to breakfast with my parents, I still wore jeans and a t-shirt. Mind you it was a “nicer” t-shirt that I wear under blazers sometimes but it was still a t-shirt.
I would work out the days he would most likely propose (do youthink he’ll set a significant time aside, etc?) and on those days wear the dress.
