My wedding is this weekend! We’re getting married on Saturday and having a luncheon after the ceremony for family and close friends. We’re having an open house on Friday night for neighbors – my future mother-in-law has a LOT of friends in the neighborhood, and I didn’t want to do a reception on the wedding day, so this was the compromise. I was planning on wearing a dress and putting my fiance in a suit for that, but not our actual wedding clothes, because I’m nervous about a lot of things (dress getting dirty, tearing, sweaty/stinky before the actual wedding day since it’s going to be hot this weekend here). But mother-in-law really wants me to wear it so that all her friends and neighbors can see my dress. I guess it’s a fair argument, but I really don’t want to, so I’m looking for alternatives. I ordered this skirt (shown below) and was thinking about wearing it instead, with a top that matched? Do you think this will be close enough to a wedding dress for everyone there? I don’t know any of them, and it’s going to be a super casual meet and great type thing in a neighbor’s backyard? Also, we took a few pictures of us in our wedding clothes to have displayed at the open house, do you think that will be enough? Mother-In-Law has been SOO helpful with everything with the wedding and I don’t want to disappoint her or fight her, but I also really don’t want to wear my dress…
Also, my dress is finally finished (8 days before the wedding… whew!) and we took a few pictures this weekend and I thought I’d show it off online because I’m pretty excited about it!
