I would wear a cocktail dress. If it was black tie, black tie optional ect. then I would wear a long one. It sounds a little less formal than black tie though, so you’re probably safe in a fancy knee length dress.

If you wear something strapless, lowcut or one shouldered ect. either bring something to wear during the ceremony or make sure it isn’t in a location with a dress code (some churches require certain body parts be covered). I would also avoid white, silver, champagne and blush (and in some cultures black, red or purple). You don’t want to be mistaken for the bride or wearing a color which signifies disapproval of the marriage.
