What are/did you wear to your bridal shower? How formal was it?
My shower is in April. I’m not sure when yet but I figure it has to be one of the last two weekends in April. Since the first weekend is Easter and the weekend after that is Greek Easter (Fi’s family is Greek).
I told my mom I was going to get a dress. But now she says she doesn’t think that I should buy anything and I should wear dress pants. And she said I could even wear jeans and a sweater. I don’t think that’s dressy enough for a shower though – I dressed nicer than that when I was a guest at a shower. And I am guessing it will be at a restaurant – my brother and SIL’s shower several years ago was at a restaurant (it was thrown by my family).
Also, is the end of April too cold for sleeveless tops and/or dresses?
I actually have a couple of long sleeved caftan dresses from Victoria’s Secret that are very pretty and would work well, but I’m pretty sure they have to be altered because they are a bit too long in the sleeve area – most things don’t fit right being only 5’0″ tall!

I will definately be wearing a dress of some sort! And if you wanted to wear a sleeveless dress, couldn’t you bring a cute sweater in case it gets cold?

I wore dresses to both of mine… Even when I’m a guest, I either wear dresses or dress pants

Is your shower in MA? As you probably know, late April in New England can go either way in terms of temperatures. I would wear a cute dress and bring a sweater if it’s chilly.
I wore this dress with black crop leggings to my shower, but it was in the middle of summer and it was a backyard BBQ-type event so I didn’t feel the need to get too dressed up. But I can’t see wearing slacks or jeans to a shower – dresses are the way to go!

I’m wearing this dude, but in a dark brown color. It’s way more flattering on than it looks. I’m dressing it with gold statement jewelry, plus really cute wedges. My shower has the potential to get messy (its a paint your own pottery place) so this dress was perfect at only $16 in case I ruin it with my picasso skills.
Bring a cardigan/over piece just in case if you wear a dress. So easy to toss on a chair if you don’t need it!

I’m planning to wear a sleeveless dress next weekend in Ohio. I’ll just wear a cardigan if it’s cold.

I’m wearing white to all of my pre-wedding events, and I bought a cute little white sundress (My shower will be in June). I think you probably want to wear a dress, and if you can afford a new one, get a new one!

I wore black dressy capri pants and a nice top with heels to my April shower! I am not a dress person though.

That dress is so cute!
Shower will definitely be in MA. I’m hoping we’ll get more of those ridiculous temperatures from last week. It’s supposed to snow here tomorrow. The weather here is beyond crazy.

My shower will also be in MA in April (next weekend!) I recently found this cute dress at Express. I’ll wear it even if it’s cold, just maybe bring along a cardigan or something.
The last time someone told me to wear dress pants to an event I thought would be better suited to a cocktail dress I regretted it. Besides, it’s your shower! You get to be a little more dressed up than everyone else and it’s perfectly acceptable.

These are the dresses I wore – The pictures are kind of awkward, but they show ya what I wore (The shower colors were green, blue, and purple like my wedding… So I wanted to match them)

I’m wearing all white to my pre-wedding events too — my shower is April 29 (also here in MA) and I am PRAYING for more of that lovely weather we had last week too!
I have two dresses, one a white lace sleeveless dress and one a white, lace 3/4 length-sleeved dress if it’s a bit chillier. I think you can wear a dress if you want! It’s your shower, you deserve to be a bit dressier! 🙂
