My dress should be shipped to the boutique by the beginning of March, and I want to make sure I have my shoes and under garments ready for my first fitting so there are no surprises down the road.
My dress is a trumpet-cut, fitted, lace gown which we will be altering into a sweetheart neckline. What did you bees wear under your simiar dresses? It’s too fitted for any type of corset, but I feel like a bra and thong are too….I don’t know….minimal? is that wrong? Are Spanx the way to go, and if so, what kind? I don’t really know where to start, so any advice would be very helpful!!

My friend did have on spanx it was ok for her but it looked like she was in a vise and she took it off right after and changed into honeymoon cloths so it did not matter her new hubby did not see her in it. So I guess depends on how your wedding will flow and if you care what he sees you in. 🙂
I will just have on a sexy thong and the garter for Fiance, maybe some booby tassels(jokes just jokes on the tassles) LOL BUT we are going back to our room before the recpetion to change So I want to look really sexy for him even if we really do just changing when he takes my dress off or helps me I don’t want to and would never be caught in spanx in front of him…well I won’t say never but not on our wedding day or night.
PS. Not that this matters really but and I will not speak for all men but everytime SPANX is mentions around our male friends most of them don’t respond in kind to them and we always get a “THATS just WRONG” but our male friends are immature just like the rest of them LOL I am also the kind of girl who loves to do nothing but impress and show off to my Fiance, a more modest woman may give better advise.

I would pobably be hard-pressed to ACTUALLY wear spanx, but now I”m wondering what I should do (if anything) about a bra? I guess I’ll buy a brand-new nice strapless/backless one and plan on possibly wearing that and definitely a thong, which I wear every day anyways so I’m totally comfortable in them and used to them. What about long-line bras/ That’s what I wore to try on the dresses…what the consensus: sexy? Not sexy? I’d rather not wear a bra at all but my C-cups demand that a bra be worn (although by last-fitting/wedding time they will be smaller since that’s where I lose and gain weight first).

My seamstress sewed cups right into my dress, so no bra needed! I would highly suggest this route.
I just wore regular underwear, but my dress was a corset back and provided lots of suck-in support.

@SarahSmilesDec28: Good idea…and now that you mentioned that I *think* we discussed that when I was trying the dress on. I think I’ll buy a nice new long-line or strapless bra anyway, just in case. I don’t need anything making my boobs look bigger than they already do (yeah, I’m one of the weird people who hates their boobs and wishes for a b-cup instead of my c, sometimes d-cup!)

I wore a long line bra, panties, and mermaid crinoline

I love spanx, but they never stay where they’re supposed to stay. I just wore a corset type bra and thong. It was awkward with the sales associated but I got over it.
