This is my wedding dress (yay!)
It already has boning in the torso area and fits like a glove there. It’s a zip in the back and I am not planning on having a corest tie put in since I don’t always like the look. There are straps, obviously, but they are sheer under the lace so my undergarments can’t have straps. The dress is a size 10.
My question is what should I wear for undergarments? I need to get the straps taken in a bit but was thinking about a nice strapless bra. I’m pretty ‘perky’ but I’m worried I’ll slide throughout the night if I don’t get more support.
I’ve looked at a couple different options but have some concerns. I feel like a full corset (my original plan) might not be a good fit–2 layers of boning sounds really incomfortable. I’ve also seen some strapless tummy control body suits but would that slide down as I move throughout the night? I’ve worn tummy control panel stuff before too and I feel like they always slide down–although the boning of the dress might keep it in place.
Any thoughts? Also open to brand suggestions. Functionality is key but I definitely wouldn’t have something lacey and pretty 😀

I have a dress that is similarly cut, but without the straps at all. I am a B cup and I decided to forego the bra completely, as I already know it will be warm and I want to be comfortable. My dress (Stella York) has a strap that goes around my ribs and fastens iin the back built into the dress, I can actually not even tie my dress, its too big and that strap holds the whole thing up anyway. You could perhaps have something like that added in? Also, talk with your alterations person, if they are good, they will be able to have it fitted so it won’t move around on you.

In used those “chicken cutlets” under my dress. I had a corest and ended up not wearing it last minute because it made me “spill out” from the top of my dress so the silicone bra did just fine (and i didn’t have to adjust anything all night :D)

If you don’t need a lot of support, you can have cups sewn in.

my sister wore the same dress for her wedding!! She is a not so perky ‘C’ cup and she just wore underpants and no bra. She had cups sewn in and she was fine and her boobs looked like they were in the right place all night!!! 😉

My top is also fairly sheer. I’m doing a strapless bra but throwing on clear straps that I will attach to the lace underneath. I just dont want to spend my wedding day stressing about pulling up my bra.

Thank you, everyone! A lot of great feedback–I’m going to talk to my seamstress about putting in come built in cups.
