Honestly, it’s a waste of money because over time it is going to wear off.

I have always liked the latitude/longitude engravings but they get REALLY long. I’m not sure how that would fit in a tiny ring band

so maybe just the place and the date.

I voted for the first option – then when you get your wedding ring you could engrave your wedding date and location. Very sweet 🙂

@eocenia:   Very surprising!  Did he not wear it often?  My uncle has a millgrain band and it was entirely smooth after a few years.

It probably also depends on the type of metal with softer metals like 24 kt gold being more likely to fade than less maleable 10 kt gold.  I find that even the gold stamps in my rings wear off pretty quickly.

I like the lat/long idea the most.  If it ends up being too long for your ring, and you’re still looking for a way to commemorate it… here’s an etsy seller who makes custom prints.  I had one made of our wedding coordinates, and Darling Husband loved it.

I have a 2mm e-ring..my Fiance had it engraved and you can see it fine. I love the idea that he thought of something himself and had it engraved for me
