So sadly my mom decided to ask my dad for a divorce, of course the year I am getting married. My roommate is getting married and on her invitation she wrote,
Mr. and Mrs. HER LASTNAME request your presence at the marriage of their daughter.
But since my parents won’t be married come invitation time, what should I write? I don’t want to write anything that accentuates the fact that they are divorced.
I know there are plenty of girls out there with divorced parents so please let me know what you wrote on your invite!

“Mr. John myname and Ms. Sue myname, together with Mr. and Mrs. Don and Jan husbandsname …”
But you should also ask your mother if she prefers “Mrs” or “Ms”.
EDIT: And a quick google will give you lots of examples and alternatives

Thanks. I definitely would prefer to not accentuate it by putting Mr. and Ms.

@christmasbride13: You may prefer Mrs. and not Ms., but you need to ask your mom her preferece. It is her name, after all.
I think the wording paula1248 suggested is great!

Are they hosting, do they specifically want to be named on the invitations?
Both my and FH’s parents are divorced so we’ll be using “together with their families”, name them separately in the program. Otherwise, you could say Mr. John Smith and Ms. Jane Smith request….
