Some of you may have read my post last week after I learned my ceremony/reception site was being closed due to foreclosure…
We have a new reception site (yay!)– but no ceremony site yet. I was still hoping to do the ceremony outside; but am unsure of what to write on the invites. The previous site was convenient because our ‘crap weather plan’ was to move the ceremony from the back porch to inside. Now that we may have two separate sites for ceremony and reception; I’m not sure what to write on the invites…
Any ideas? Also, would it be unacceptable to have a ‘change of venue’ note written in our welcome bags? I’d just hate for someone to not get the memo.
I am just really hoping that I do not have to give up my dream of having a lovely autumn outdoor wedding. We’ve been considering doing them at a local park– but the park and rec do not ‘reserve’ the parks for events after October 17 (because it’s out of season); and technically parks are public property– so we’d pretty much just be dropping in on a random park.

I think usually the invite focuses on the ceremony and at the bottom it would say “reception to follow at… [name of venue and address]”. You would also indicate the time if it’s not immediately after the ceremony.
Do you need the change of venue notes in the welcome bags if the invites haven’t gone out yet?

I’m just not sure where the ceremony will be at– as we won’t know what the weather will be like until closer to that date.

I am having an outdoor ceremony and our weather plan is at the reception venue.
However, our invites just focused on our outdoor plan and we had a reception card for the reception info.
If we have to use our rain plan we will get the wedding party and family to call all of the guests. Even if you tell them on the website there would be no way of them knowing which venue you chose if it was just spitting out. You have to choose one or the other.

Can you rent a tent just in case the weather turns bad? I would try to get a placed pinned down so you have a location to put into the invitation. You should really focus on that before you start worrying about invitations.
