I can’t see people wanting to take home jars they have been drinking out of. Make an announcement at the end of the reception that is short and to the point.

I think I’d actually put a tag on the mason jar I just can’t think of anything whitty for it to say

@Ember78:  If you google mason jar favors, you will see that it definitely has been done and people love it!

I would have a large stack of paper guest towels near the exit so people can dry off their glass and tuck the towel inside for the trip home. Perhaps have a sign and a sample glass with a towel inside on the table  to give people the idea?
