DS is VERY much like me.. sometimes it makes me want to pull my hair out! lol He’s incredibly compassionate and VERY literal/analytical. I don’t think he “does” things like I do though…. although him and Darling Husband (which is his step dad) do.. funny how they tend to sleep the same way. lol

Darling Husband and I talk about that sometimes. We would love for our future children to get:

DH’s eyebrows (seriously, he has perfectly groomed eyebrows naturally, I’ve got Princess Diaries worthy bushes that run the risk of becoming a unibrow if I go too long between tweezing and waxing)

My memory but DH’s ability for rote memorization

I would like our unconceived, unborn children to have:

FI’s laidback easygoing attitude, but my focus on accomplishing goals.

I’d like them to have DH’s ability to do big sad eyes even though that’ll be bad for me!

For boys: their dad’s height and ‘manliness’ lol, that sounds weird. He just has very manly features which I find attractive. He also has a nice head of hair – no going bald for him
His intelligence (for girls and boys) and ability to be logical vs. emotional]

Not his procrastination!

For girls: not their father’s hairy eyebrows, my ‘cuteness’ as Darling Husband puts it, and for both girls/boys, my ability to be sensitive to people’s feelings, and my ability to set goals and meet them!

We joke that we both feel bad for our kids cause I have a (somewhat) big nose for a girl, and Darling Husband has a decent sized nose, which is fine on a guy, but God help our daughters if they get our nose and DH’s ‘caterpillar’ eyebrows. Hahahaha

I’d love for my future children to have FI’s compassion and stubborness and my imagination and drive.

I *don’t* want them to inherit depression (runs in both our families) or FI’s family anger issues.

AS for facial features, I’m happy however they look ๐Ÿ™‚ As long as I have one child with FI’s eyes and another with mine.

I would love for my baby to inherit our kind hearts and our love for books and literature.

I also hope they get that look when Fiance knows he’s doing something bad  (like getting ice cream from the freezer after a big dinner, or ticking me)

Haha oh my gosh this is awesome! Fiance and I talk about this a lot!

FI’s characteristics: eye color, height, metabolism, skin, laid back attitude, caring and compassion, street smarts

My characteristics: nose, teeth, athletic ability, book smarts, fierce loyalty, competitiveness (is that a word? lol) and my drive to get things accomplished…

yeah if only our children could get the best of both worlds lol

We are a few years from even considering TTC, but I hope our future children inherit….

DH’s red hair.  When he was a baby it was fire engine red, but is now a dark brownish red.

His height.  I’m only 5’0, so I hope our kids are taller, LOL!

DH’s focus and athletic ability.

My determination and work ethic.

DH’s personality – he is so light hearted and can talk to anyone.  I am more analytic and quiet.

I would love for my theoretical children to inherit his height, his close-to-perfect-skin, his lips, and much more importantly, his astonishing intellect, verbal abilities, sense of humor, moral values, and openness to books and music from all over the world and all across time. He loves everything from Dante’s Inferno to modern African novelists, and music from Bach to Public Enemy.  That’s not to say he doesn’t care if something’s good or not (Katy Perry has no place in his itunes), but he loves to consume the best of all different cultures, times, and places.

I hope they DON’T inherit his depression (or my milder depression), his pessimism, his lack of confidence, or his family’s tendency toward obesity.

They can get either of our eyes – I love his, and I love mine too.

I hope they inherit my hair (thick where his is thinning), my teeth (never had braces/retainer), my ability to make and hold onto close friends, and my optimism.

I hope they DON’T get my nose (damn you, dad!). His would be better, but still pretty big on a girl. I hope they don’t get either of our tendencies toward procrastination.

This is fun! If only we could pre-order them this way…;)

ooo Love this!!

From Fiance: His tenacity and intelligence. He has seriously overcome so much stuff and still managed to turn out fantastic! I also kind of hope our kids have his curly hair and if we have a daughter, his butt! haha ๐Ÿ™‚

From Me: My laid back attitude and imagination, as well as my work ethic ๐Ÿ™‚
