Going bridemsaid dress shopping soon and wondering what everyones opinions on these dresses are. My mum is kinda admanet that the dresses must cover the bridesmaids knees and I tend to agree – its not a night out on the town its a wedding and the focus should be on the bride/couple. Agree?

I love long ones. I needed dresses that will fit two very different types of girls. My Maid/Matron of Honor isn’t fat, by any means, but very curvy! She also NEVER wears shorts. Or dresses or skirts. I would NEVER make her uncomfortable for my wedding. My Bridesmaid or Best Man is VERY thin. Hardly no curves and a stick figure.
I chose this long dress :
But, ivory with pink sashes.

Personally, I dont like long, ankle length dresses. It makes me feel like Im dressing up for my prom. And for us girls with some thick hips and buns, the shorter dresses arent too flattering if they go too low.
The 2 weddings Im in this year are in July and early October. the July Bridesmaid or Best Man dress goes about an inch or 2 before my knees, and we are wearing ballet flats, not heels.
The October one the dress is below my knee, but not by much. Even in October, Maryland is warm enough.
I would determine the length on 2 things: time of year/weather, and the girls being comfortable in their dresses, depending on body type/shyness/etc. Ask their input, theyll be wearing the dresses afterall.
This is the dress for July
This is really close to the dress for the October wedding. I didnt have a pic onhand, so I went on dessy.com to find a closer image.
