Originally we were going to do a bunch of different mini cheesecakes because I LOVE cheesecake. But…we decided to do the traditional cake thing because my venue is paying for our cake. We might so something else in addition to the cake, we haven’t decided yet.

What ever you have make sure it is something you can cut and shove in each other’s faces (or gently feed if that’s your style)! I like the candy buffet too for a favor, I really wanted to get those personalized m&ms…anyone else order those?

Though I do love a variety of desserts, I’m holding stubborn against the buffet of sweets trend. I love the tradition of a beautiful wedding cake. If someone offered me a chocolate fountain for free, though, I would not say no. 🙂

We’re having a great big traditional wedding cake. A dear friend of my parents (and of me, too, of course) made the wedding cake for my sister and brothers. I’ve always known she’d make my cake! While I’m a fanatic of desserts of all kind, it was really important to me to continue this tradition. Plus, it’ll be pretty and tasty.

We are still struggling with the appetizer menu but the dessert buffet was not a problem.  LOL

We are planning on serving a small wedding cake which will be white cake with a strawberry filling for one layer and lemon cake with a rasberry filling for the second layer.  We are also offering cookies, shortbread tarts with lemon curd and pecan tassies.  Daughter also wants us to offer some ice pops or ice cream treats.  Best part of all of this is my freezer will be stocked with good food and treats after the reception.

We are doing a 6in round to cut and feed each other. Then we are doing cookies, cupcakes, and cheese cake minis! 🙂

We are doing a cake buffet with a lot of family recipes. I’ve never liked bakery cakes, so we are doing this all ourselves. So far we have a total of 12 cakes on the list of those to be made. I have no idea how we are going to do it, but my aunts and sil say they are all game.

We’ll have a small cake for the center of our candy buffet. We’re also having dessert crepes served to the table – filled with ice cream, flambeed strawberries, chocolate sauce, and whipped cream. They are TO. DIE. FOR!!!
