Hourglass generally meana your boobs and hips have close to the same measurement with a smaller waist. You look like you have that type of figure. I think a mermaid or fit and flare would work well with that body type. You never know until you try them on Though. You may not even like the way it looks. if you can take pics in different silhouettes when you go try dresses on then post them, we may be able to help you a bit more and give you an opinion.

PrettyPinkiePie:  I would try on a bunch of styles, you never know.  I’m a bottom heavy hourglass to pear shape and I loved my modified a-line/fit & flare dress.  I did see a drop waist ballgown that I wanted to try but it wasn’t until after I had bought my dress so I never did for fear of loving it and then having to figure out what to do!

PrettyPinkiePie:  You have a fantastic hourglass figure and mermaid gowns look best on hour glasses IMO!! I love the dropped waist style in your first photo too

I put people in wedding gowns for a living! I’m of the opinion that anyone can wear any silhouette, it’s about finding the right one for your body. So if you’ve got your heart set on mermaid or drop waist, then try on lots of both, figure out what you prefer on yourself, and find one whose proportions work well with your body. You don’t want something to cut you in half, and if you’re busy you may need something with fullness at the hemline to balance the bustline and keep you from looking top heavy.

That being said, let yourself be open to surprises! Try on things you find intriguing but wouldn’t necessarily picture yourself in.

Rachaelemma:  That’s Mori Lee 5108, it’s really popular on this site. I think it retails for like 850, so that’s partly why.
