I use Indian kajal kohl from Shanaz Husain.

It’s an herbal eyeliner and never irritates my eyes when tight lining.

I like to use pencils; they’re much more forgiving than liquid liner.  I apply it just to my waterline (under the eyelash) so it looks more natural, since personally, I’m not a fan of tons of eyeliner.  Aqua Eyes (from Make Up Forever) is a great is the Urban Decay 24/7 pencil.

jollyheart :  i love the urban decay 24/7 liners. they’re easy to apply, soft, and go on very richly. plus, UD is a cruelty-free brand, so you know that no animals were tortured in testing our your beauty product

I just do the ELF liquid liner. It holds up all day and is only $2!

Another for Stila stay all day liquid liner! Has a great felt tip, the pen lasts a long time and it doesn’t budge once on. Also very pigmented. They don’t test on animals if that’s important to you. This is the only eye liner I use.

LOréal Super Slim Eyeliner is a very easy to apply liquid liner. I love it, I carry it in my handbag and can apply it on a train. Otherwise, my fool-proof dressing table eyeliner is Laura Mercier Creme Liner and a great, fine-tipped thin brush. I have about 10, some of them I bought from an art shop, but MAC 209 is ideal. All you need is a steady hand and some time.

jollyheart :  I really like the stila brand liquid liners, they work really well in getting a variety of line widths, and you don’t have to worry about the pots that the liquid liners usually come in. I think from now on, if i’m not using a stila liquid liner, i’ll stick to the crayons. Dealing with hard pencil liners is just annoying to get the right width desired.

I use liquid but it does take time to perfect. Using dark shadows with an eyeliner brush is a pretty fool proof solution though, for a more smudgey and subtle look.

jollyheart :  I use a liquid underneath and a pencil on top to make a more defined line. I find that this works better than just using one or the other. I use MAC because it lasts all day. I use the liquid last liner for the liquid liner (this brush is really hard to work with so if your a beginner you might want to try something with a smaller brush, however, it is waterproof and lasts alllll day so I’ve learned to deal with the ridiculous brush on it) then for the pencil liner I use the Technakohl liner from MAC. It is actually a twist liner so no sharpening involved. They’re more expensive, but they last forever so totally worth it.

It depends on the day, but I either use black liquid eyeliner or a Korean brand (Bbia) AutoAuto Gel Eyeliners which comes in variety of colours.

I love Clinique’s eye pencil in Black Diamond.  I love black liner and the added sparkle in the liner gives it a softer edge.  I’ve never been good with liquid liners and don’t use them.
