For our candy buffet we will be offer these small craft paper bags. I’ll be stamping a cute saying as well as our initials, but I’m not sure which type of ink to buy?
These do not have a sheen. What type of ink is best for this kind of paper, so it doesn’t run? I don’t want to spend a lot on inks that don’t work (I would think they are non refundable once open).
Also, does anyone know if it’s possible to get initial stamps without having to buy an entire alphabet set? That is all I saw at Hobby Lobby and Michael’s. Thanks!

Just a regular ink pad from say Michaels or Hobby Lobby will do the trick easily. As for the letters, my suggestion would be Ebay as I have never seen them in the store without the whole pack.

I meant what type of ink, there are different kinds for different materials, so I was hoping someone who stamps a lot would know the best one to use.
I’ll just have to ask someone at Michael’s when I go. Thanks though!

I’d probably just go with a regular ink. I’d stay away from ones that say they’re pigment ink since they dry slowly. Great for embossing, not so great for having to have hundreds of bags strewn all over your house drying.

I’m a stamper/scrapbooker and my favorite type of ink pad to use when stamping is Memento. Whatever you do, stay away from Staz-on Ink Pads. They are wonderful for stamping with a bold dark print, but they will stain your stamps. VersaFine is another favorite ink pad of mine because it’s very precise.
As far as stamps, you are probably aren’t going to find the letters by themselves. You will have to buy the packs with the whole alphabet. Other option (if you aren’t in a hurry) is to order a custom stamp on Etsy. Custom stamps are so much fun and can be just as cheap if you find the right seller.

@SapphireSun: Thank you, this is kind of what I was looking for, pointing out what not to use and why/being specific for embossing.
@texasrandi: Thanks for pointing out what to stay away from! I’ll have to check Etsy again, I browsed the other day but couldn’t find much that seemed affordable but probably wasn’t using the best search terms.
