I’ll be wearing a ballgown in june and I have a one layer, fingertip length lace veil. I love the look of cathedral length veils, but I think (at least in my case) it would be way too much on me. We’re having an outdoor wedding and I don’t want to get swept away like a ship’s sail if the wind comes up a little bit (Or worse, it gets torn out of my hair and blown away. Eesh.)

I’m wearing a ball gown and have a 1 layer, cathedral length, pencil egde veil with just a few crystals on the trim – it will weigh it down a little if the wind is blowing during the ceremony.

If it helps, I wore a princess ballgown. My veil was a 2-tier elbow length veil with sparkles.

Depends on what style you want. I love the cathedral lace but it wouldn’t have gone with my style dress.

@rsanc89:  Do you plan on wearing it for the ceremony then taking it off? If that is the case I think you should go for it! Everyone will see the detail at the reception. I love it that much!

I had a one layer cathedral with crystals.  It was fine for my venue, a church, but there was one place where it didn’t work – outside at a monument for pictures.  It was catching on the cement walkway like crazy.  I noticed that your venue has a brick sideway, and it would probably catch like crazy there too!

My first choice would be 6…… That way you still have a gorgeous veil that’s not competing too much with the beautiful detail in your dress! I wore a 2t rhinestone trim veil with my dress so I guess I’m a bit partial… Lol

If you are set on having a longer veil then choice 3 would be my pick for your dress….. I would avoid the lace veils…. I think it would be too much with your dress (which is gorgeous btw)
