Thankfully he is getting a gold band! I always wanted my husband to wear a gold band, I hate hate hate the look of other non-gold bands. I didn’t tell that to him, but when we first went looking at rings I asked him if he wanted tungsten or something like that and he said he just want a plain gold band and I was so relieved haha. However, he is consider white gold to match my main wedding set, but I am hoping to convince him to get yellow because I don’t find plain white gold looks like a real wedding ring.

great to know. My guy works a lot with computers and technology, not heavy machinery, so I think it should hold up for him too.
Thanks for that link! That’s an amazing price!!

I like the look of his band. I’m leaning towards tungsten or titanium.

He has a platinum pipe-cut plain band. It was expensive, but hey – so was mine! Why shouldn’t he have what he wanted? He also wanted our rings to match and it was easy to buy them from the same store.

FH and I havent started shopping for WB’s yet, but an old co-worker of mine had a tungsten ring that shatter THREE times! The first, ON THEIR HONEYMOON! It’s supposed to be the most resistant to breaking, but drop it the right way and it will shatter. His experience scares me and it seems a lot of these ladies have experienced the same. Good luck!

yeah, this is what makes me lean closer to titanium. It’s still easier on the wallet, and won’t shatter like tungsten.

DH’s ring is palladium. He also has a stand-in for vacation and what not that’s cobalt I believe. They look almost identical but the cobalt is thicker and thus not as comfortable for him.

My husband has a titanium ring because it’s light (we’re quite active) and was in our price range (I think under $150). He doesn’t wear any jewelery so this was a good compromise for him.

Fiance has a beautiful 5mm yellow gold band from Brilliant Earth. We both love it. It’s nice shiny gold and will hold up well since it’s 14k. My set is yellow gold (14k plain shank three stone and 18k pave diamond wedding band) so they will “go” even though they don’t match. Both of our dads wear yellow gold plain bands and it seems traditional and sweet to us. I envisioned 4mm but Fiance felt 5mm was better since he is tall.

plain white gold because it is what he liked, it is comfortable, and it is classic and simple.

@lovelee1: we got him a tungsten band on amazon for $17. It’s te exact same one the jeweler sells for $299

Just ordered FI’s 14K white gold wedding band last night. He likes the look of white gold, and it was more affordable than platinum ($600, 10% discount = $540 total).

His ring is an 8mm tungsten band. He just really loved the style of the ring, and tungsten is the only metal he will wear. $60-70 I do believe. But you can find them for 20 bucks on amazon and eBay!
