I love being in the kitchen and kitchen gear’s what gets me giddy, so that’s what I like to give.  I figure the practical stuff is great for family gifts, but when I give to friends I wanna give the fun stuff!

I also like giving themed gifts–so I might give napkins, tablecloth, placemats, and napkin rings instead of giving one giant thing. One friend got the immersion blender plus her set of bowls, since I like using the blender to make soup.  That type of themey thing 🙂

Honestly, I just pick a random thing that fits the amount of money I want to spend.  I should probably put more thought into it, but I have such a hard time going to the store and finding the items that are printed on 50 million pieces of paper.  Once I find one, I just get it.

I have never bought someone a gift, it is always cash. Also for my wedding, we only got cash and not a single gifts. All gifts seems to be given at the bridal shower and in that case I am not creative when it comes to gift giving so I usually just buy one large kitchen item.

@TxsAggieBride: I have only bought a registry item in a store once and the experience was so frustrating…I much prefer doing online for registries cause the database finds it all for me.

My go to gift is two high quality white cotton bath robes on which I have his and her’s initials embroidered. Have yet to go wrong with that!

    95% cash.

Unless it’s a really really close friend then I will also get a really nice gift.

I always give cash at the wedding. I voted fine decor and kitchen gadgets because thats usually what I pick between for the shower.

@BunnyBrideToBe:  Good call.  I’ll have to do that for all the weddings I go to.  However, since I have first hand experience on how stressful it is to keep a wedding within budget, I’ve become more inclined to give money.  I may just do that from now on instead of the whole registry thing.

Whatever’s on the registry. Sometimes I’ll do themed gifts, but always what’s on the registry.

I usually try to find something unique that goes along with the couple or one of a kind. For example when my Maid/Matron of Honor got married a co worker of mine at the time knew how to draw. So I got a picture of my Maid/Matron of Honor and her then Fiance and had my co worker draw picture of them from the picture I gave her.  My Maid/Matron of Honor told me that was their favorite gift because it repsented them and was a personal touch of a gift.

Another Girlfriend of mine when she got married I had crocheted her a full size blanket for a gift.
