Nowhere. Is that considered unique? SO and I will be paying for our entire wedding (bridal party’s requirements included) so money will be a bit tight and something’s gotta give. We decided to splurge on our big day, have the wedding of our dreams and forego a honeymoon. I know a lot of people would think, “what a waste for just one day” but we live quite frugally and us “treating ourselves” is putting extra money towards the mortgage to pay it off faster. Our wedding and the memories are important to us so this is the one time we’re doing something special for ourselves. We can always save up again and go on a holiday later when we’re debt free and can have the trip of our dreams. Kind of like a belated honeymoon. =)

We are going to Montenegro – a lovely hotel right on the sea. The hotel has 10 rooms and it’s own private beach! We live in London so it’s not that far or unique really.

Just got back from Jamaica, going on a Caribbean cruise in April, my parents live in FL which we are also visiting so we decided to rent a year round, three bedroom, two bath log cabin with a fieldstone fireplace in the woods of Acadia National Park, Maine. It will be cool to see the sun rise on Cadillac Mountain, the first place the sun hits each morning in North America!

pinkorblue: I live in NZ and have been to Tonga before, actually to get my open water dive certification. The diving there is amazing, but we missed the season to dive with whales. Hopefully you are planning on an outer island – the main isalnd Tongatapu was pretty average, not that nice at all and we were glad to only have one night there, like bars on all the windows etc. We went to Vava’u and it was so much better, however all of Tonga is very rural, with dogs/pigs/chickens wandering around, very rustic! If you are heading to Vava’u I can give you some tips on places to go 🙂

We’re planning on going to Norway! Hopefully we’ll spot the Northern Lights whilst we’re there.

jennifer_nz: We are only going to be on Tongatapu for the evening we arrive and a few days before our international departure, which doesn’t really count as we will be staying at fafa island. The remainder of the trip will be spent on either Ha’apai or Vava’u. I’ll send you a message. Tonga is a very difficult place to get information on, but we are ready for the challenge 🙂

kdbug41: I can’t wait! I think Barcelona will be the perfect honeymoon destination. If you haven’t come across the Costa Brava area during your internet searches, you’ve got to look it up! We plan on spending a few nights there.

- Wedding: May 2015 - The Fairmont, SF
Seeing as this will be our last real vacation until after I finish law school (FI is from the UK and moving to the US with me for school so 99% of our travels in the next 3 years will be back to England), we’re doing it big! Japan, China, Viet Nam, and Australia. Flights have been researched, cannot wait until they’re booked.

Not really that unusual in general, but unusual for a honeymoon. We spend two weeks in Colorado skiing. Most people tend to go tropical, but we spend a lot of time each year in the islands already and so we decided to go the opposite for our honeymoon. We had a blast because we love to ski and the conditions that year were unreal.
