I am having a heck of a time figuring out what veil to wear with my dress. Do you have any ideas or suggestions?
(Keep in mind that my dress is all white with a white sash, instead of the color posted.)
Thank you!! 🙂

Oh and P.S. I am not personally fond of the veil shown in the picture. I think that the thick satin edges take away from the dress. I thought that might help give you an idea of what I don’t like. 🙂 🙂 🙂

Simple, long cathedral style. I went to a wedding and the girl wore this exact dress! It was elegant and princessy, just like the dress, but not too excessive. I think with the dress being so embellished with lace and sequins and a satin waist band, a simpler veil will be subtle and add to it but perhaps not be overwhelming. Just my opinion, though! That dress looks fabulous on, though. She did warn that her legs got warm under there, though

Thank you ejs4y8! That is so good to hear that a cathedral veil wasn’t too much. I was considering doing a cathedral veil for the ceremony and then switching into a shorter one for the reception. Has anyone done this? If so, what style of short one do you think would match the dress?
It’s funny… before Weddingbee, I never liked cathedral veils. I thought they were old fashioned. After seeing so many pictures of brides rockin the veils, I seriously think they are gorgeous. I am definitely considering it. 🙂

I am rocking a cathedral veil for a dress very similar to this! But like you, I haven’t found the perfect short veil yet. But I do know for sure…no serious edging on a dress like this, and the short veil has to be SHORT…not fingertip length, but something that will pop out more!

I am also wearing a cathedral veil and I think it so dramatic and beautiful!
I would also do just a simple veil if you dont want to take away from your dress. Maybe a veil that just comes to you elbow or shoulder.

No problem! I have a butt-length veil, haha, fingertip maybe? It’s sort of an awkward length. I wish I would have either gone for the shoulder or cathedral, but mom insisted on it, and since it was an ebay find i said ok since i’m only wearing mine for the ceremony, not the reception. Candles plus veil? No thanks! Ha. So my suggestion is if you’re going to go long, GO LONG! They make for excellent pics, especially if a little wind action is involved! You could change into a cute fascinator instead of a veil for the reception, too! Flowers/feathers/sparkly little doodad in your hair!

I have the same dress as you and I am having a difficult time as well!! I’ve found a couple I sort of like but all of them were fingertip. What length is a cathedral length? I am afraid to do that because it covers the back of the dress (which is quite unique). What do you think of these veils?:
