I am thinking of hiring somebody on the day of to help everything run to plan. This would be above and beyond what the venue staff would do, although I’ve not had the conversation yet about what they will/won’t do. I don’t want a wedding planner, but obviously they’d need to know things pretty well.
Normally for help with an event I’d fall back on family but I want them to relax and enjoy the day. I’m trying to think what they’d actually need to do vs being there just in case.
Is this a service vendors offer? Is it usually expensive? Any thoughts on whether it’s worth it?

You could get a Day of Coordinator. They usually start working with you a few months before the wedding to get the details down, and then they basically run the wedding day for you.
Cost varies, of course, depending on location and what services you need. I have a partial planner and it’s totally worth it for me, because all I have to worry about on the day of is getting married and she’s taking care of the rest.

You want a day of coordinator (DoC)? It like a wedding planner but it only for the day of the wedding and only what you want/need the DoC to do.

Get a day of coordinator. Highly recommend. Depends on your area for price but it’s so worth it to me.
