Not listed here, but the venue is most important to me. It completely dictates the tone of the wedding.

The whole time we were planning my mom would telling me, “As long as we have someone to marry you, food to serve & music to dance to…NOTHING else matters!”

    But, I agree w/ Kailtin! 🙂

I was thinking about this very thing this morning… and, honestly, I think it’s different for everyone.  The vendor that made the most impact at our wedding was the florist.  Everyone raved about the beautiful flowers – and he really exceeded my expectations and blew my mind.

That said – if the venue was uncomfortable, or there wasn’t enough food, or there wasn’t music to dance too…. that all would have made the event subpar…

It really boils down to what’s most important to you.  I think it’s hard to put a ‘where should the most money go’ category on vendors because typically you are going to spend FAR more for catering than you will the other things (because there are more heads to feed).

I had a lot of friends tell me they wished they spent more on photography … or realized that they’d want more pictures from their wedding.

For me, photography.  It’s the only thing you have left of the day once its over and you have it for the rest of your life.

They all play an important role and none is more or less important than another.

Food – people said our food was the best “wedding” food they have ever had…and I have to agree it was phenomenal – better than some great restaurants – I think people truly appreciate a good meal

Photgrapher – you want to preserve wonderful memories of your big day

Officiant – cant get married without one!!

DJ/Band – a bad DJ/band can ruin the atmosphere of a wedding or pick up the party and get everyone excited – I would have spent more in this area if I could go back!

Venue – it has the most influence over the atmosphere.

I said officiant.  If any of the others are missing, you still end up married.  😉

Officiant.  Our Priest is reconizing our Sacrament which is pretty huge for us.
