I put “better be before 2012” because while he has previously promised it will happen this year, part of me still doubts it will be this year. We went last week and he has the style number of the ring that I loved but I don’t want to get my hopes up. I will definitely be crushed going into 2012 and still not have a ring on my finger.

I am hoping for 2012. I would love for it to happen at Disneyland next month but it’s probably not going to happen for awhile. However we want to get married in 2013 and he knows 6 months is the minimum that I need to plan a wedding, so 2012 just makes sense. But who knows!

Good luck to those who voted by the end of 2011!

    What a great poll!

Ugh I wish I was in a more definitive place than “hoping in 2012″.  This time last year SO was thinking about proposing at Xmas.  He ended up not having enough money so we agreed no engagement at that time.  Now it has been a whole year later and I hope we are almost there!

I had some weekend progress! Looks like it might happen by the end of 2011 🙂  I’m being very hopeful though AND trying to keep my mouth shut.

He promised before 2012 and he ordered the ring last week… So sometime soon I think!

I was promised sometime between the start of spring semester and the Bar Exam (late July ’12).  Hoping its towards the beginning of that timeline rather than the end, but I’m not holding my breath…

I WILL be engaged in 2012. We have even started disgussing ways to be engaged by the end of the year. That would completely depend on money though. Unless one of us gets a sweet bonus or makes a really good quick buck then we will be waiting until tax returns come in april. God that sounds so far away.

Hoping to be engaged in the second half of 2012 once we’ve both graduated – the fact that I have to wait is kind of nice because it gives him time to save up to purchase my ring and it gives me time to save up for his watch – lol I told him that if I get something, then so does he which he appreciated. And at least, for us, we have a time frame in mind which saves me from asking “When??”

@Novella: I’ve always been a little confused by this, and hopefully someone can clarify it for me.  If the ring is in the house, why isn’t he proposing?  Why is he waiting??  I don’t get it!!  Why wouldn’t he just give it to you when he gets it?

I’ve heard other bees talk about knowing the ring is in the house but he hasn’t proposed, and I’m legitimately confused!

I’m hoping for 2012, but that kind of depends on what happens with Grad School.

We are actively discussing engagement and will most likely get engaged in the end of Feburary. Wish it was sooner, but seeing that we wouldn’t get married until July 2013, I am not in a rush.
