- Wedding: June 2013 - Upstate NY
I had a total “moment” at the very end of our wedding, the last dance actually, where it was just SO amazing. Champagne Supernova was the last song of the night, and EVERYONE got onto the dance floor and made a multilayered circle with James and I in the middle. Everyone singing – old, young, american, english…it was so cool! What a way to end it!
There really wasn’t a worst moment. The whole day was just amazing for us both.
Best part: Being married at the end of our ceremony. That was such a great feeling.
Worst part: Our first dance was delayed because step mother was in her room crying because she didn’t get a bunch of flowers to thank her, even though she didn’t do anything to help with the wedding.
Best: The sun coming out as I was walking down the aisle, and the whole church illuminating, OR after our pastor said “You may kiss the bride”, and we both spent a second trying to get my veil off my facefor the first kiss!
@BrandNewBride: no worst part?!!
Best: the weather. It had been raining and terrible for a week before the wedding and was even worse for 8 days after the wedding. Our rehearsal and wedding day was quite literally the most perfect day imaginable. So uncommon for upstate New York! The whole wedding people kept coming up to me and saying “I CAN’T BELIEVE THIS WEATHER, WHAT A PERFECT DAY!”
Worst: our best man’s speech. It included a DWI reference, a nasty bloody nose story, and mentions of vomit. And it lasted 6-7 minutes. I wanted to kill my brother in law.
The best part was having everyone I loved and cared for all in one place to share, witness and celebrate our day.
The worst part was celebrating without our loved ones who had passed away.
@lealorali: Oh, whoops!
Worst: Either running 30 minutes late (Poor DH!), or my grandma pulling me aside at the reception and complaining that they ran out of hors d’evoures (before the unlimited lunch buffet opened) and then asking when she was “allowed” to leave!
My reception was only 3 hours long… She didn’t want to wait for the cake cutting!
Best part: seeing my family together and our first kiss and first dance. I also loved the feeling I had as we were leaving the ceremony and got in the limo…it was over and our lives together forever had just begun and I looked forward to our honeymoon.
Worst part: the musicians did not show up at the ceremony, it rained at the end of the ceremony so we could not have our planned cocktail hour outside and we were rushed to take pictures, the video show that my husband worked so hard on could not be heard because of interference with the DJ’s sound system, noticing that people were not taking the favor glasses I worked so hard to etch because the caterer took them to wash and placed them on a table people thought they were not favors, my friend’s crazy girlfriend started dirty dancing and trying to get everyone’s attention.
Best part: walking into the reception with my husband and seeing all of our friends and family there… and seeing all of our time and effort pay off with the decor, etc.
Worst part: the priest never said “you may now kiss the bride”…!!! Seriously!!! So our first kiss was on the trolley en route to the reception as we were listening to (not even good) old Michael Jackson songs. 🙂
watch my video and you’ll see the best!
the worst part was my DJ was… awful and I could go on and on and on about how bad he was…
also my husband disaperied for most of the reception.. family drama i guess.
best: getting ready!
worst: dances (I hate to dance and it felt so uncomfortable….I was in agony!)
Best part was walking down the aisle. I was with my grampa, my hubby was getting teary-eyed (which is so unlike him!), the song playing was perfect, it was a really surreal moment and what I think about most when recalling our wedding.
Worst part was that I couldn’t wear my beautiful, sparkly bridal heels. Our wedding was in Las Vegas and my feel were so swollen and beat up due to walking the strip so much it hurt to wear them! Instead I was stuck wearing flip flops lol!
The best part was seeing everyone from various points in our loves dancing and getting along. There wasn’t a worst part, everything was seriously perfect.
