I found this cute idea only after I had asked all my BMs. What can I say? I already knew who I’d want in the party before the proposal, so when the proposal happened, I was ecstatic to ask them all as soon as possible!

Go to a craft/toy store and buy plastic rings with a fake diamond then put them in little “ring” boxes and ask them to be your Bridesmaid or Best Man. I wish I did this!

Or maybe send “Will you be my bridesmaid?” cards from Zazzle.com or Etsy.com

Have you ever thought about a Bridesmaid or Best Man Valentine?

I had my in-town girls over one night for a “girls game night” and when they all got there I gave them all gift bags in our wedding colors with the words “Will You Be My Bridesmaid” on them, and little stickers of diamond rings in boxes. In the bags were buttons that said “Bridesmaid” or “Maid of Honor”, custom hair flowers that I made in our colors, and a little wedding cake candle. Then we all gathered around the speaker phone as I called the out of town girls to ask them!

I used some poems I found online and then changed them up a little bit.  Then I printed them and attached them to a card with my wedding colors.

They really loved them!  One of my friends starting balling when she read hers.  It was great!!  haha!

@kingytobe: Haha! No way 🙂 I’m a closet anti-social and probably don’t even have that many friends total.  I had 5 BMs: One of FI’s sisters refused to accept, my brother’s wife dropped out (and then so did he). After I recovered, I asked another who happily accepted…it’s been Bridesmaid or Best Man drama. Don’t get me started.

Back to the cards, I thought it was a cute idea, and then I realized I needed to make FIVE SETS, plus one for me as a keepsake. You’ll see in the photo that the girls rotate through who gets to hold hands with the bride. Pick one of the blonde hairstyles and follow front to back.

Yes, I’m a little OCD but I loved the way they turned out. I folded them up, and on a card printed “will you be my bridesmaid” and on the back wrote a personal note as to why I wanted them in my bridal party. 4 out of 5 are waaaay out of town, so I dropped them all in the mail and waited for their calls. They loved them 🙂

I made personalized cards from Snapfish. Each one had a photo of me and that Bridesmaid or Best Man on the front. The inside I had a list of goofy “top 10 reasons why you should be my bridesmaid” and then mailed them off!

The girls loved them and were so excited when they opened the cards!

I wanted to do something fun, and in person, but both my sisters are not local. I had planned to ask both at the ones baby shower, but due to them bugging my Mom, and asking me who I was going to have, I just caved and told them that they were in the wedding (yes – I ‘told’ them, that’s what sisters are for — we are all friends though). Now, I did ask if I could ‘borrow’ the ones two kids for my flower girl/ring bearer (5 and 3 for our wedding).

Wish I could have done something like a card though – it would have been much more personal! I may, after the wedding, send them each a card.

I’m getting married next St Patrick’s Day, so I arranged for each of the girls to get a package on St Patrick’s Day this year. Each package had a framed picture of me and the girl, plus a bunch of cheesy St Paddy’s Day things, like a green wig, green stick on mustache, and leprechaun socks. (Gotta love Target’s Dollar Spot).  I also made cards for each girl with a really pretty drawing of a dress on the front (from a stamp I bought at Michael’s), and “Will you be my bridesmaid?” in pretty caligraphy. Inside I wrote a bunch of stuff about how special they were to me. It was fun, but the silly Irish stuff kept if from being too sappy. 😉

I sent all my bridesmaids and my Maid/Matron of Honor a package — Since we’re having a destination wedding (kind of, 6-7 hours away from where I live). I bought them all this travel jewelry box from PB and wrapped it in one of our wedding colors with the two other colors in ribbon.  Also included personalized cards with me asking them to do me the honor and why I’d love to have them stand by me on my wedding day. :_

I made each of my girls a tissue paper bouquet in their favorite colors. I also made them cards with a Disney Princess on the front and a poem asking them. They all loved it!
