For me it was the love of people in my life. Some of my friends who are like family, broke through to a new level this year. I don’t know how to explain it except to say that experiencing love like that heals a place in my heart like nothing else can. Understanding that I have found “my tribe” and that they love me and accept me so completely changes how I see so much in my own life. Everyone should be so loved.

It sounds weird, but literally everything went wrong, fell apart and got set on fire. I learned who I can count on, who I cannot live without, and that when the cards are down and we’re counting bets, I am one tough broad….it’s empowering to know that I can take what life dishes out and I’m moving into 2013 ever confident in my mantra, “All a girl needs is good manners and great hair!”

2012 was an amazing year for me! We got married, bought a new house and a new car, and found out that we’re expecting our first child, due any day now (although apparently not in 2012!).

Going to Munich and Milan with the love of my life and qualifying for a BSc. I guess getting married ought to be with them, but tbh Munich was much more exciting.

This year was the first that I have ever felt truly comfortable with my body. I’m in the process of losing weight and have a long way to go, but I started wearing dresses and skirts for the first time in over a decade and enjoyed taking pictures of myself. It was really nice to finally have confidence in myself.
