I normally wear a size 2-4 and my dress is an 8.  One of my bridesmaids is supertiny~24 inch waist and about 100lbs soaking wet (she’s 5’5″) and the salon we got the bridesmaids’ dresses told her she needed to order a size 6!

I’m a street size 6 and ordered my Tara Keely in a 12. It was a huge shock to the system. My bust and waist would have fit in a 8 but I got a big ol’ booty.

When I went dress shopping I was a UK size 18 – 20 which is about a US 16- 18 I think? I went shopping abroad and had to order my dress from the USA as it was not available in the UK… the consultant told me I would need a 22W! I was horrified… As I was trying to lose weight I told her to order it in a 16W and when I got it I couldnt even get it close to zipping up and I started to panic… but…. finally I have lost 34lbs and it is now too big! However my everyday clothes still fit the same… go figure lol….. The sizes are definately odd even with Alfred Angelo….

Kind of weird – I am an 8 so I thought I would be a 10/12 in gown size. But actually the 12 was falling off of me.

Street size 10.  Dress size 10.  Was just a TAD tight in the hips (always my problem area) but I’ve been working out and dieting for a while and have already lost 2 dress sizes so I know by the time we get married my dress will fit perfect, if not needing to be taken in.  I bought the sample and was so happy it fit me perfect (seriously NO alterations needed unless I can’t slim my hips down a bit then needs to be taken out about 1/4-1/2 inch.

@MissChirpie:  Mine is a Casablanca too!  So thank you for posting!

I’m a size 4 dress pants and my dress is a size 12.  I need to have it brought in a bit.  But that size 12 had me feeling pretty bad about myself. But Miss Chirpie looks amazing – and I know I will too.

I’m usually a size 4/6. I was completely prepared to be a much larger size and oddly enough my dress is a 6 that was altered to a 4 for the previous owner. I’ve lost some weight since this picture but it still fits a bit tight in the chest though, so we’re probably going to let it back out to a 6 in that area. My first alteration is February. It’s from Rivini.

Size 12 street size, had to order an 18 for my generous bust and wide ribcage. Definitely not great for the self esteem but oh well – it fits beautifully!

I am a size 2-4 in street clothes, and my Allure wedding dress is a size 6.  I’m including both a photo of my full body in street clothes (one of our engagement photos) and a photo of me in my dress, for comparison!

I think it really depends on the make of the dress and the designer.  I wear a size 6 and 8, but in my dresses that I tried on, I was a 4 and 6.  I have yet to find a dress perfect for me yet…. still on the hunt!
