First dress I tried on at David’s Bridal, I wanted something simple…

I decided to wait and look in Sydney since I was going back just before the wedding and thought it would be nice to have an Australian wedding dress. This is the dress I bought:

This is the first dress I ever tried on. It’s from Alfred Angelo, I don’t recall the style #. I was really tempted to buy it because it was a really good price, but the dress was too heavy.

p.s. Ignore the cathedral train. My Maid/Matron of Honor was reliving her wedding through me…

I cannot tell you how many times I went dress shopping and came home to tell my FH that I had found the one…only for it to be topped on the next shopping trip. The first dress I tried on was over a year and a half before the wedding, and I was 3 months pregnant. I fell in love though and thought surely it was the one. It was a David’s Bridal Oleg Cassini CWG352.

I spent months looking at that dress online, just sure that it was the one. Time passed, baby came, and the time came to dress shop again. I tried this dress on and still liked it, but didn’t feel like it was the one. So, the shopping continued. I found this dress at a different David’s, but I eventually decided I didn’t want lace.

So, my consultant suggested trying on something out of the box. She grabbed me a Galina Signature gown that I had seen online but never considered trying. It was beautiful, and I finally thought I had found the one!! I just kept standing and staring at myself. Then, I realized how heavy the skirt is. I wanted to be able to dance at my reception. So this dress got the X too.

I was a little discouraged and eager to find MY dress. So, I went to a little bridal salon outside of Atlanta, GA. As soon as I walked in I knew I was in trouble. The first dress I saw I loved!! I tried on others but nothing compares. I cannot wait for it to come in for my first fitting!!

Keep your head up ladies!! You will find your perfect dress!!

BCBG Max Azria – gorgeous, but I was more in love with my friend’s discount than the actual dress itself. Still shopping for the dress!

Ooh fun thread – I haven’t seen this one before!

My first dress I tried on was the Adorae. I thought I loved it until I realized it was really heavy and I was sweating after a minute haha

Then I moved onto lace and never looked back. Ended up with the Maggie Bernadette (and am getting some big alterations done)

@pengoala: Well the Bernadette actually has straps and a keyhole back.. and as you can see in the pic, it’s strapless (we just kinda shoved them down in the dress haha). So they are going to cut off the sleeves. EEK I hope it turns out okay!!

This was the first dress I tried on. It’s Vogue by Maggie Sottero

It was over budget and just not quite “the dress”

And this is my dress! A bit more sparkle. ๐Ÿ™‚

They both have the lace edging which I love!

It’s interesting to see what people started and ended with! The first dress I tried on was a DB Galina Signature dress…

And I ended up with an Allure 8526
