For the wedding band and the e ring, it was 1800! Fiance got a discount for paying cash =) It’s the perfect amount for us to spend since we are 22 and just starting our lives

It was $4k for the e-ring from Blue nile, we are planning to get our wedding band at lower than $1k for both.

My friend spent almost $40K in their engagement, 1.5ct+ with triple excellent, F color, vvs1. I think its a norm to spend $4k – $6k in my area for the ering so mine is categorised as low budget (the wedding dress cost aline is average of $4k) however houses also averagely start at $800k unless you want to stay in further suburb.

Mine cost a little over $5,000. If we could have afforded $30,000, it would have cost $30,000. For me an engagement ring is a sign of his commitment, an investment in our future, and it’s a financial investment, just like stock, paintings, etc. I believe in making the best investment I can and I applaud everyone else who got the best investment they could, be it $5 or $50,000. My Fiance says I’m the best and I deserve the best. My ring was the best he could buy and I, for one, deserve that.

What’s really funny is that a lot of people talking about how the ring is unimportant are spending thousands on a wedding that will last 7 hours and have nothing at the end of the day to show for it but expensive photos. The marriage itself could have been accomplished with the price of the officiant/minister. Your ring, hopefully, will last 40 years and be passed down to your children’s children.

At the end of the day, it’s whatever floats your boat.

I was shocked to find out he spent just over 3k. I love my ring because he gave it to me, but I know diamonds and he paid too much for the 4Cs. I would never tell him that though. Despite the fact that I am annoyed that he didn’t shop around or get any advice on buying a diamond ring, when he told he how much he paid (I guess I bullied him into telling me..long story) my first thought was OMG he made a huge sacrifice for me, and I love him so much. 🙂

My “promise ring” was over $500 but we found a coupon so it was only $325.

I’m getting my moissy wedding set for about $2000 with the Amora enhancement.

I think they are totally overpriced, in general. I feel like everyhing is about 4 times the price of what they should be! This applies to diamonds, moissoniates and even settings.Yell Yell Yell!!

As ridiculous as ring prices are, he dealt with it. He was very generous and also did not spend more than he could afford. The ring itself is absolutely my dream ring, no question.

Mine’s valued at £319, but my FH promised he spent less than that! It’s 9ct gold, I THINK about 0.75ct Tanzanite, and 0.05ct diamond. What I love though is that he made sure – and got a certificate from the jewellers proving it – that the diamonds were conflict free. I wouldn’t have even thought of that, and that just makes it all the more special. <3
