How is it that so many of you have toured with people inside? Isn’t it common knowledge to leave for a showing? That seems crazy to me.

Theres a really weird little town nearby that a friend of ours grew up in… When we saw this house was for sale we HAD to go to the open house. It’s literally the strangest house I’ve ever been in. So small and quirky, inside it looks like a mix of a Victorian creepy church, ceilings were so low except for the foyer… It was literally so weird but cool.. They wanted a lot of money for it, but it’s def an amazing oddity and I’m so glad we got to actually see the inside.. i found a pic online to show you guys…

I haven’t seen anything too traumatic, but I did go to a few showings with the owner present which was awkward.

Oh!  There was one house with a basement that only had outdoor access.  We didn’t go in because when we opened the doors, there was a snake on the steps.  Oh hellz no.

One of the first rentals a friend and I looked at was all of 600 sq ft -advertised as 1200 sq ft… it was 2 bedrooms- you had to go through the kitchen to get to the bedrooms.. then bedroom one led to a bathroom which led to bedroom two. Bedroom 2 had no way out unless you went through the bathroom back through bedroom 1 into the kitchen.

When my fiance and I were looking to move to Indiana, we found a foreclosure that looked awesome, but then we found more pictures.. Green shag carpets, green garden tubs, all kinds of wonky doors and windows and halls that looked like it just rolled out of the 80s.

When my parents were looking, we came across a house that a person was running an in home salon, so the basement had black and white tile in a corner, a hair cutting chair, and a dry heat sauna. Sort of an odd touch but a little cool

maplebacon:  haha I had to be home during a showing once. It was extremely awkward. I was home from college and running a fever and really sick and all I wanted was my bed and sleep. The realtor warned people but they’d still go barging in and I was just like a puddle of tissues and watching a sex in the city marathon. The couple who ended up buying the house caught me on a trip to the bathroom and tried to shake my hand but I had no voice and frantically mimed and very faintly attempted to yell  NOOOO STAY AWAY in the tiniest of voices. I guess I didn’t scare them away too much cause they bought the house but yeah, I dunno from the opposite end it was hella  awkward too
