I’m just curious as to what song you danced to with your father (or someone of that importance to you) at your wedding? My dad and I will dance to “Unforgettable” by Nat King Cole and Natalie Cole. We are both avid watchers (even though its been over for years…) of Will & Grace and have always loved how beautiful and heartfelt this song is.
What’s your father-daughter song?

@Meggiemo: I’m such an emotional mess right now (wedding in 12 days) and I watched that music video. Tears. Ridiculous.

@KatiePi: Dance With My Father by Luther Vandross. Danced with my grandpa, my dad passed away when I was 10 so it was in dedication to him.

We danced to Butterfly Kisses. It had a special connection for me, although my dad thought the song was much too long, lol.

Ours will probably be “Cinderella” by Steven Curtis Chapman, found out about it on these boards and loved it! Before that I wanted it to be “Because You Loved Me” by Celine Dion. I love both songs, but I like Cinderella a little bit more for the father daughter dance, and my father liked it better too, so it will probably be that 🙂

@Payless: I have no clue what my emotions will be like during our father-daugther dance. I was super emotional this last week but have been better these last few days as I am so excited (2 days! Well, almost 1!). It really depends on how my dad does. I usually keep it together, but when I see my famly cry, I cry too. We shall see!

@Payless: Oh my, your dad has absolutely AMAZING taste in music! My favorite bands on earth are Staind & Alter Bridge.
@KatiePi: I had my dad surprise me with the song. He is my very best friend, and he raised me and my sisters by himself. It was a very special dance to me, because I am the closest to him of anybody in the world (even much closer than my sisters). He chose “My Little Girl” by Tim McGraw. A little overused, but after looking up the lyrics, the words were incredibly fitting and accurate.

@Jacqui90: That’s a good choice of song! My FI’s cousin used “Cinderella” as her father-daughter dance, and her poor dad could barely keep it together. I think she chose it with her late sister in mind, but it was also her favorite choice of song.
