I was super fortunate and was offered to be a full-time teacher in the middle of my student teaching internship when I was completing my Master’s degree/k-12 certification.  It was an elementary ESOL teaching position with a student population that I love!!

I was bummed at first that I wasn’t placed at a middle school, because I liked tutoring the middle school students the best.  However, I found out that elementary school is what I love and was incredibly lucky to be in the right place at the right time when a position opened up mid-school year.

Before that I tutored for different companies, but it was part-time, so I don’t consider it a big girl job.  I hope that when we do have children my future husband will have a great job so that I can homeschool our children and tutor other people’s children.  I think it would be AMAZING to get to go back to delivering individualized instruction to children with the educational knowledge I didn’t have when I tutored prior to grad school.  I’d also love to create and share homeschool curriculum.

Age 25 (bordering 26) was my first full time job, after completing grad school last year. Just had my 1 year works-iversary! It feels a little late in the game after seeing others who started working much earlier, but oh well. Everyone has their own timeline.
